A young man in 1963 developed a way to show the rich beauty of the Orthodox Christian faith by having a bookstore filled with the
writings of ancient Church fathers. From the beginning the bookstore was not designed to make a profit rather the vision of his business
was on two principles. The first principle was those who ran the bookstore would have a oneness of soul, meaning that each participant
would seek guidance by mutual blessing over against relying on one person's opinion. And the second principle was called "holy money" in
which all profit from the sales of this bookstore would be of Orthodox materials without deviation from the teachings of the Orthodox Church.
After the start of this bookstore it became productive, and even after the original founders became monastics, their legacy continues as
several Orthodox bookstores opened up across the U.S. including our own.
